My companion is back!!!

Hey Hey!!!

MY COMPANION IS BACK!!!!!!! It was transfers this week and so i got my companion back from the MTC!
We now have Elder Miles as our District Leader which is perfect because it makes it easier for me to get my maccas! It's pretty crazy though because now we only have two companionship's in our whole district like it's just me, Sister Mungamuri, Elder Miles and Elder Bajjanki in our district like that's it, that's our whole district haha. Now me and Sister Mungamuri have our normal area plus the old Sister's area so we have a lot of ground to cover so we are going to be busy, busy, busy!!!!
An additional zone has been added this transfer and so now we have three zones in Delhi and i am in the central zone! It contains Vasant Vihar, Munirka and Malviya!

This week our stake president gave all the sisters ice cream and said that we are beautiful angels from heaven and that he really appreciates all the work that we do. He's so sweet!!

We went to New Moti Bagh which is a super fancy place that all the Indian Government people live and you need to sign in at the front with the security guards before you enter and so we didn't actually end up going in but we just talked to the security guards and one of them wanted a selfie so i held up the Book of Mormon in the picture and there were about four other guards and they all held up a Book of Mormon too and it was the best selfie ever taken!

We went on exchange with President and his wife on Friday and that was a good/ scary experience haha.

We met a lady at a bus stop and we were just talking to her and then she's just like slapping my cheek like it was super playful but it was just very weird and i was looking at my companion like what is happening right now??

Happy Days!!!

Hello!!!

This week was awesome! I don't remember the last time I was this happy and enjoyed being a missionary so much!!
Honestly, it's all due to this focus on the Book of Mormon during finding! We wanted to know what the record was in our mission for the most Book of Mormon's handed out in a week so we called the Zone leaders to find out and they said it sounds like that scene in the best two years when they ask what the record is so then we were like well what is the record in the best two years. The record was 62 so we decided that we would beat that record and hand out 63 Book of Mormon's from Thursday until Sunday. I thought it was a pretty crazy high goal but I had the faith that it was possible and I could see the Lord's help every step of the way in achieving our goal. One day we handed out 20 Book of Mormon's and 15 in just 45mins! We ended Sunday night by exceeding our goal and handing out 67 Book of Mormon's!!! It was the most exciting thing ever and now I love setting goals and talking to people on the street isn't even a little bit scary anymore! Also, Elder Miles said he'd buy us all maccas if we achieved our goal so I was sure to call him and put my order in for three large McChicken meals with sprite! He was very shocked but so proud of us!
Saturday night was when we achieved our goal and it was the same day that we found out we can now call home to our families every p-day so we were just jumping up and down and it was the most exciting and happy day ever!!

I'm super fancy nowadays and so last Monday we went into the American embassy just to play basketball. I never play basketball but it was actually a lot of fun and me and my companions had a really great time!!

While door knocking this week we went to this house and there were these three dogs inside the gate which wasn't even closed and I was like oh they're harmless just lying there like they're probably just like the street dogs that wander around everywhere here. Well as soon as I start to open the gate they come running at us barking and growling and I was like eekk and so I quickly closed the gate but it didn't lock and we started to walk away but then they get out and follow us and I just wanted to run but Sister Dorairaj was like no don't run and held me back. It was the scariest thing of my life having these gnarling dogs behind us who I thought where going to tear us into shreds. So now when I see dogs in a house I'm not entering no matter how friendly they look! Funny thing as well though because we saw those dogs again later and they were so placid and I was like what is your problem.

I've also wondered why when we are door knocking we always say no when people offer us water so I talked to my companions and I said next time someone offers us the water we need to say yes. So someone offered us water and my companions both said no but I said yes. We got our water and we were able to stay and talk to this guy for a while, in the meantime his mum also came home and invited us inside. We were able to have a really good talk with his guy, his mum and his dad who came home too. Initially when he first saw us at the door he wasn't interested in hearing from us but in the end, he gave us a return appointment so now my motto is never say no to water!
Also while door knocking we found a lady and she gave us a cake! I didn't last for very long haha

I love coconuts!! They are everywhere on the side of the street and you just go up and you can either have just coconut water or the coconut flesh too and it's just the greatest thing seeing them cut up these fresh coconuts which taste so good!!

One day we were going to do findings in sector 12 but my mind kept thinking about sector 13 so I said we need to go there today. When we were walking through there I saw a motorbike with weird writing on it and I said hey that looks cool what language is that. Sister Srinivasan said it was Kanadam and she got really excited because that's her language. We then found the house the bike belonged to and there was a family of three who invited us inside and were very kind and said whenever we were in the area to come and say hi and they would love to hear from us again. The father has also been to Australia and he gave me a key-chain with the Sydney opera house on it haha it was funny to get something from Australia from an Indian. It was a great connection for all of us getting to meet this family! I just love the spirit and seeing it guide our days as we are willing to follow it.

With love,

Sally the flowerpot

Hello!!

Last Monday me and Sister Srinivasan saw a guy pulling a little cart with flowerpots and the flowers were so pretty!! sooo now we have a flowerpot that sits on our dining table, her name is Sally and she's so pretty! I believe she's a bachelor button but her flowers are pink with white around the edges. So pretty!!!
We also had freshly baked cookies and milk for dinner at the Skidmore's! The best kind of dinners.

One of my goals, while i am here, is to get into an Indian wedding! we've been walking past a lot lately because it's winter and that's wedding season here because who would want to get married in the summertime here! The weddings are all these big colourful tents and they look so cool!! I keep looking for an opportunity to crash a wedding but no one is ever in there when it's all set up because weddings here don't start until like 9pm!! Definitely a creative finding technique though, just waiting for the perfect moment to execute it!

I taught Sister Srinivasan how to make our own pizza this week! So delicious!

I saw a guy walking down the street and i was like hey Sister Srinivasan go and talk to that guy and he was on the other side of the street and there were lots of cars but she was up for the challenge so we ran across the road halfway but we still had to wait for some cars to pass and the guy was nearly going to pass us so with our hearts pumping and the excitement and exhilaration bubbling up inside of her she shouts out to him to get his attention and he looks at us and looks around him to see if we were talking to him, she then yells out yeah you wait right there! we get a break to cross and we run over to him and she's like hi we're missionaries and he's just like no and walks away completely baffled as to what just happened haha it was pretty funny.

We've been focusing on the Book of Mormon in our finding which is great! It makes finding a lot more exciting!!

Bye Bye Relief Society President...

Hello!!

This week there is some very tragic news!!! Our Relief Society President got emergency transferred to Laj Pat on Thursday! Elder Nelli was going home for surgery so he had to fill his spot for some reason which is super sad.... so our new district Leader is Elder Bajjanki.

We were riding in an auto and we saw some missionaries walking along the road so i put my hand out and we hi-fived. It hurt. I think the auto was going a little too fast.

We had Zone Conference this week on Taco Tuesday!! So we had tacos with roti, it was the best they could do but it was great!! We Elders also got given mission ties and the Sisters got scarfs! The Ties are blue and the scarfs are pink! They have the mission name and a picture of the temple and wheat sheaves inside the temple because everyone that we harvest we want to enter the temple!

The first Friday of every month is going to be finding Friday! So basically we don't have any appointments or anything except going out finding all day! All the senior couples and President and his wife join us for the whole day too!!!

This week President said he thinks being positive is one of my super powers! That's a pretty great power to have!!

Have a super positive week!!

This is Elder Burnett's baptism of Reena Massey which he came back for on Saturday and then we all got momo's after yay!

HAPPY LITTLE VEGEMITE

G'day!!

On Thursday my companion left to go to the MTC for FOUR WEEKS!!! It is very exciting for her but that is a long time. I've now been put in a trio with Sister Dorairaj and Sister Srinivasan in Vasant Vihar. We now have to look after both areas which is fun. I also had to move to a different bed and room for the first time since arriving in this mission which is sad but I'll see my room again one day... Pros are that I don't have to share a bathroom and I have my own phone though!

I got sideswiped this week which was fine like it was honestly nothing and it was all because I was so happy in texting someone who had gotten up to 1 Nephi 15 in his Book of Mormon reading!

Saturday was Australia day so I set up Australian flags in the apartment and we all had Vegemite on toast and tim tam slams for breakfast! They all like Vegemite!! Me and my companions all wore kangaroo pins too! They still wear them! We also took Australian photos as a district which was great! I set up flags outside our apartment but someone stole them!! I'm blaming the Ap's! Since it was India's republic day on the same day they probably weren't too happy seeing my flags haha. Elder Burnett heard about it though and drew me a flag to stick up! He didn't know what it looked like so he just drew it from my description and besides a few stars missing he did a pretty good job! The best thing though was that I met an Australian! I haven't met an Australian since being here but meeting them on Australia day was just the perfect timing! He's a member from Tasmania and we all had lunch together and it was awesome!
Since Australia day was on Saturday Monday is the public holiday so I'm also celebrating that by currently sitting here in my 'Happy Little Vegemite' shirt while eating Australian shaped shapes which are Vegemite flavoured and a Caramello Koala!

Went for a walk this morning with Sister Hansen along this biodiversity park which kinda reminded me of a beach and all along the trail there were these peacocks which was so cool!!

Our mission boundaries are very big but we only have missionaries in Delhi. SO we've started to get what we call remote investigators! each missionary is given one or many and we get to teach them through Skype in the Skidmore's apartment! When we get transferred and moved around that person will always remain with us and we get to teach them our whole mission which is pretty cool. If they get baptised we'll probably get to travel to that place for it which would be ULTRA cool! Elder Vowels has been a great help with this as he's sending me referrals of people he's taught in Hong Kong who have then moved back to India and I get to Skype them!

The Spirit which you feel getting to hear someone pray for the very first time in their life is a very special experience and the spirit you feel is so strong as you can just feel the love and how happy Heavenly Father is at hearing His child speak to him for the first time. It's my favourite thing to witness.
