It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas!..... I mean Diwali!

Hello!!!!
It's Diwali time!  It's on Tuesday and Wednesday this week and Diwali is one of the most popular festivals of India. Its origins are Hindu, and it celebrates the victory of light over darkness, good over evil and knowledge over ignorance. Often temples, shops, homes etc. are decorated with bright coloured lights and people give gifts and gather as families for meals and firecrackers.  It honestly just feels like Christmas though with all of the homes everywhere decorated in fairy lights. Then in Christmas apparently they don't have lights up so I'm just celebrating Christmas a little early this year.
With all of the celebrations, we have an earlier curfew for this week and we now have to be in the apartment by 8:30pm but President has come up with a different activity for us to be doing every day as we're back earlier so we won't be getting bored.

It was Halloween last Wednesday so me and my companion made some cookies which we decorated to match the Halloween theme and then we went to people's homes that we are teaching. We dropped the cookies off at their door and ran away. It was a lot of fun!!

We had Stake Conference on Sunday and it was really good!! There's only one stake in Delhi so Stake Conference is also just like a mission conference because all of the missionaries come together.
The church in India is really growing as we have 14,000 members, four stakes, two missions and a temple announced!
Oh at the beginning of the Conference I got a text message from President Hansen saying that he just learned that I will be called upon to share my testimony. The conference then started and I was just waiting to be called upon but before I knew it conference was nearly over and the closing hymn and prayer had been announced. President sent me another text saying that I may not have to speak because the conference was running late. Ayoo I was so disappointed.... kuch nai.
